Fountain Cavern, on the north coast of the main island, is known for its numerous Amerindian petroglyphs, and the site is believed to have been of ceremonial significance for the earliest inhabitants of Anguilla. Over 40 Amerindian sites have been documented in total.

Petroglyphs in Fountain Cavern. (The temporary red tapes are simply to indicate the petroglyphs.)
